• Gunsmith - How to smooth double action trigger pull on a S&W
Some Smith and Wesson revolvers come from the factory with a rough double action trigger pull. It's an easy job to smooth it up however if you know the process. In this guntec presentation Larry Potterfield, CEO and Founder of midwayusa, details how to smooth the double action pull using just a couple of hand tools. He starts by removing the trigger and the hammer from the revolver. The double action surface on the trigger is stoned using a fine India stone and a steel bench block. He then removes the double action sear surface from the hammer and polishes the surface with the stone. Once all of the areas have been touched up the gun is reassembled and function tested.

Vangani, Maharastra, India. About 40 miles inland from Mumbai. Near Karjat village and a town called Neral. A clip of the back garden. The Western Ghats are in the background. Cows roam free as do monkeys and dogs throughout India. This is an amazing and unique sight. As you would expect in a tropical zone there is life everywhere. An exceptionally beautiful and very hot place. The shot of my feet show the results of what Indian mosquitoes can do. The coconuts are collected by a man who is paid 2 rupees per coconut to climb trees that may reach 50 feet in height. At the time I was there you got 70 rupees to the pound. The coconut palms also provided much needed shelter form the blazing sun. To reach this village you would have to take a train from Mumbai or risk the roads. The roads are in a bad way in some parts of India although Goa's roads seem fairly new. Typically the road work is handled by hard working men and women using hand tools. There is some heavy plant but this is rare. When in the back garden it is not unusual to hear chanting being relayed by load speaker from a Hindu temple just up the road. This can go on for hours. It can be quite mesmerizing.
